The Slotfather Part II is Betsoft’s 2017 sequel to its mob-boss original, trading the first game’s fixed paylines for a 243-ways engine. The henchmen take centre stage here: three Tall Gangster symbols drive both of the slot’s bonus rounds across five reels.
We played The Slotfather Part II in demo mode to see how its respins, character bonuses and free spins fit together, how its medium-to-high-volatility maths behaves, and where it sits among the three Slotfather games. This review covers the mechanics, the numbers and the free demo.
How The Slotfather Part II plays
The grid is five reels and three rows, but instead of fixed lines it pays 243 ways — any matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left form a win, so there are far more combinations than the original’s thirty lines.
It is one of Betsoft’s Slots3 series, and the Godfather Part II homage is everywhere: a Brando-esque Don sits beside the reels, the score carries a Sicilian lilt, and the cinematics are sharp for a 2017 release.
A gold-crate Wild fills in on reels two and four during the base game, and the Don himself is the top-paying standard symbol. The real action, though, is reserved for the gangsters.
The Tall Gangsters and Gangster Respins
Three Tall Gangster symbols — Snake Eyes Sammy, Fat Tony and Frankie “da Fixer” — stand three rows high and are the engine of the game. What they do depends entirely on how many of them land.
Land two of the same Tall Gangster fully in view on a reel and you trigger a Gangster Respin. Betsoft keeps the triggering gangsters sticky for that respin, which gives you a better chance of landing the third and reaching the bigger bonus.
It is a neat piece of design: the same symbols that pay you also build toward the feature, so a near-miss on the reels often becomes a free respin rather than a dead end.
The Big Boss Bonus Round
Land three or more of the same Tall Gangster and you enter that gangster’s Big Boss Bonus. You join the henchman to collect a cut of the “protection money” from the town’s businesses for instant credits.
Because each of the three gangsters has his own round, you effectively pick your volatility: their bonuses run from lower, steadier payouts to higher, riskier ones depending on which gangster triggered.
It is the headline feature, and the count-driven trigger — two for a respin, three for the bonus — keeps the base game tense in a way a flat scatter trigger never would.
Free Spins
The third route in is the free spins, triggered by three or more Truck Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. Three, four or five scatters award 8, 12 or 20 spins respectively.
Every win during the free spins is doubled, and more scatters can retrigger the round for extra spins. When it ends, the Slotfather hands over a Big Boss instant cash award on top.
The doubling makes the free spins the most dependable of the three features, and the closing cash award means even a quiet round pays something for your trouble.
RTP, hit rate and volatility
Betsoft sets The Slotfather Part II’s return-to-player at 96.60%, which is solid, with a medium-to-high volatility rating. It shares that 96.60% figure with the 2024 Book of Wins reboot, though the two games differ in almost every other respect.
The hit rate is 16.46%, on the lower side, which fits a game where the value is concentrated in the three feature routes rather than the base spins.
Across 243 ways, base wins land a little more often than that headline suggests, but the meaningful money comes from the respins, the Big Boss rounds and the doubled free spins.
Playing The Slotfather Part II in demo mode
The Slotfather Part II runs in HTML5 on desktop and mobile, and a free demo on practice credits lets you try it with no download or sign-up.
We would use a demo run to learn the Tall Gangsters — how often two of the same land for a respin, and how the three Big Boss bonuses differ in pace and payout — before staking real money.
It is also a good way to get used to the 243-ways scoring if you are coming from the original’s thirty fixed lines.

Our verdict on The Slotfather Part II
The Slotfather Part II is the most feature-packed of the three Slotfather games. The Tall Gangster system ties the respins and the Big Boss bonuses together cleverly, and the 243-ways grid keeps the base game lively.
Its drawback is the 16.46% hit rate: this is a feature-led slot, so expect quieter base spells between the gangster action. The dated 2017 presentation is starting to show, too.
We would point it at players who like character-driven features and 243-ways play. For the simpler classic, the original Slotfather is a gentler, lower-key start to the series.
